2015, GREAT LAKES FISHING, Lake Michigan Fishing Report -

With 2015 officially in the books and everyone looking ahead to what the 2016 Lake Michigan fishing season will bring I'd like to take one last look at what worked for the Poseidon Crew during this often challenging year.  As I've done in past seasons I'm going to open up our daily fish logs and breakout by species what worked for us. First a few thoughts on the year in general.   In 2015 if you wanted to fill your box you really needed to work on a having a good multi-species program!  The years of a complete King dominated fishery...

2015, Fishing with Flasher and Flies, GREAT LAKES FISHING -

One of my favorite (and all to often) comments I see when reading through online fishing reports is something to the effect "its an all spoon bite right now, nothing going on flasher flies", or "i just can't get flashers to work for me".  Well the purpose of this post is to help you out if you are in that camp.  Other than a few specific scenarios Flashers and Flies will be your most consistent bait...daily for Kings, Cohos, and Lakers, if not you're fishing them wrong!!   Seriously. 2013, RECIPES -

A few years ago, Bill pulled a black bear tag and, lo and behold, came back from his hunt with well over 100 pounds of bear meat. This was the year we were getting married and had just bought a house and funds weren't exactly free-flowing so I took it as my mission to take his "gift" and make the most of it in free meals (this is what love looks like, people). Some of the things we tried were kind of awful (ahem, bear ribs) but others, like this recipe below were pretty fantastic. This year, with another bear...
